Danny is the type of coach that could be your best friend, outside and inside the gym...as long as you know how to get to work. The exercises and programs that he has designed for the Strength Training portion are so skillfully calculated that you'll no doubt see impressive gains in as little as weeks. Also, his knowledge of different lifting methods, supplements, diets, and overall conditioning are matched by none in the Arlington area. I went from barely lifting 145 overhead as a PR and 135 once or twice, to split jerking 225+ multiple times, and completing "Grace" at RX all while maintaining a body weight of 165. This is just one of the amazing feats that you'll no doubt accomplish using Danny's coaching methods, and if I had to choose anyone to be my coach, it would definitely be him.

My story is a little different than most. I was a CrossFit Trainer and had been CrossFitting for over a year before I went to Danny. I had lost weight, was feeling good, and at the end of the day I was happy with my numbers on the board. After reevaluating my goals, I went to Danny in an effort to get stronger. I wanted an edge. I wanted to be more competitive with CrossFit...or at least that was my initial intention.
Danny worked with me. From the ground up, he rebuilt every one of my lifts. I did what seemed like thousands of banded squats, deficit deadlifts for what seemed like years and reps upon reps of cleans. He worked to perfect my technique for 2 months before going heavy. At times it seemed as though his patience with me ran thin, but he never gave up and I progressed incredibly. The creativity and passion he displays in his programming is represented directly in each of his athletes. I like to say that my gains are in direct proportion and a perfect example of Danny's commitment to his athletes.
Fast-frward 7 months... After working with Danny for a while I'd shed about 20 more lbs. body weight. My squat went from 135 to 205, my deadlift went from 155 to 315, and my clean 115 to 155. (And most recently, I hit a PR of a 100 lb snatch. That's 25 lbs. over my previous total!) I was and still am making progress I could never imagine.
In June 2013, I decided I wanted to take my weightlifting and training to the next level. Danny helped me prepare for my first powerlifting meet. Entering the 132 lb. weight class and lots of hiccups along the way, I took first at my first meet. First place was great, but I learned a lot and couldn't want to work on the improvements I needed to be successful at the next one. Two months more of Danny's programming and I took 1st in my weight class and 2nd overall lifter!
I plan to keep competing. With Danny's coaching I know I will make gains and improvements to get myself to a very competitive level. Great coaches are rare. And coming from someone who used to coach, Danny shows a dedication and commitment unlike others I have seen or worked with. He is regularly researching ways and seeking out certifications to help him help his athletes get better in the gym and in life. The passion Danny has for weightlifting/CrossFit doesn't take long to notice. Give him the time to make you a better, healthier athlete and person... You'll be happy you did.

I came to CrossFit last year in mymid 50s as a lifelong athlete from the waist down. Cycling, and more recently, inline speed skating. I tried CrossFit since these activities are now limited by my arthritic knees.
Coach D expertly scaled my beginning CrossFit WODs for my age and condition, patiently but quickly instructed me in correct weightlifting movements, and movitated me to reach my first goal of performing dozens of pullups. Soon I could do many WODs at the RX weights. My weightlifting technique is still a work in progress.
Coach D constantly impressed me with his reliability, personal attention to each athlete, and most of all his ever increasing knowledge of exercise physiology and weightlifting training theory. His own athletic performance was and is an inspiration to everyone else.
I've never been this old, but thanks to Coach D, I've never been this strong!
